The Directorate General for Energy of the European Commission is pleased to announce the 7th edition of the Working Group of the Platform for Coal Regions in Transition on 1-2 April 2020 in Brussels.
The plenary sessions on the first and second day will be held at Charlemagne building (Rue de la Loi 170), while the breakout sessions on the afternoon of the first day will be held at the Albert Borschette Congress Center.
The main themes that will be discussed include the new Commission priorities, the Just Transition Mechanism, the European Green Deal, and its implications for Coal Regions in Transition.
Breakout sessions in the afternoon of the first day will explore transition success stories, phasing-out processes, socio-economic impacts of transition, RES potential in coal regions, and new business models and coal technologies.
Interpretation will be provided for the plenary session in EN-FR-DE-PL-ES-EL-CZ-SK-RO-BG. Due to a limited number of available translation booths, interpretation during breakout sessions will be limited to EN-DE-PL-ES-CZ-RO.

Sie vertritt die Interessen der Bürgerinnen und Bürger in den von der Kohlewirtschaft betroffenen Kommunen gegenüber Land, Bund und EU und ist das Bindeglied zwischen den Menschen vor Ort und allen Akteuren die den Strukturwandel der Lausitz begleiten.
In der LAUSITZRUNDE einigen sich Lausitzer Bürgermeister*Innen und Oberbürgermeister in regelmäßigen Arbeitsrunden auf gemeinsame Positionen und Prioritäten zu wichtigen Themen für die Zukunft der Lausitz. Diese Geschlossenheit und Einigkeit ermöglicht es, die Interessen der Lausitz besser durchzusetzen.
